PROPER ICT during last two weeks attended a series of events and had several business meetings in the UK, mostly in London
The journey started with a visit to Google for Startups and Microsoft REACTOR in London. We have got to learn about the best practices of both tech giants on what they are doing for Startups, and we are keen to follow such practices on our initiative to Support Tech Startups.
The most important event of our journey was ‘Leaders’ Meetings and Awards’ by Emerging Europe that took place on 27-28 June 2019 at the headquarters of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London. The Emerging Europe Leaders’ Meeting & Awards is an initiative to showcase the best of the emerging Europe region and to promote the values of vision, empowerment, and leadership. Having several business meetings with organizers and participants resulted in the creation of B2B collaborations. We had a chance to meet and chat with stakeholders of different fields, such as representatives of CNN Business and Technology, PwC, and other international organizations from Emerging European countries. We expect to see fruitful results shortly.
Afterwards, we attended the event ‘Innovative Place-Based Triple Helix Approaches for Regional Development through Smart Specialisation Strategies’ – 28-29 June 2019, St Mary’s University, Twickenham, London – exploring Multistakeholder Engagement Practices across Clusters, Projects, Science Parks and Regional Innovation Ecosystems. At this event, we had the opportunity to share our vision and commitment to collaboration between the academy, industry, and government. Valuable insights and practices following the Triple Helix Framework were presented. We consider that every country should follow such a model of collaboration as we are aware that this is the best practice to achieve ‘synergy’ to empower our societies.
Among other noticeable meetings to mention are meetings with few Tech Startups as well as with the CEO of Sheffield Technology Parks. We were happy to share ideas and agreed to help each other by providing consulting services, and share experiences.
More details regarding the developments of our two weeks journey to the UK will be announced soon.
